Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, Professor, MotherGayle Beese Sapia,
LCMHCS, LCAS, CCS
If you’re feeling overwhelmed in motherhood, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure this out by yourself. I’m Gayle, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, and Certified Clinical Supervisor. I specialize in supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, loss, trauma, anxiety, substance use, and the many transitions that come with motherhood and life.
With nearly ten years of experience as a licensed therapist—and close to twenty years working in the mental health field—I offer therapy that is warm, grounded, and direct. Many of the women I work with have been holding everything together for everyone else while quietly struggling inside. Many moms tell me that after our first call, they feel lighter—because for the first time, they don’t feel judged or misunderstood. My role isn’t to fix you or tell you what you should be doing—it’s to help you process what you’ve been carrying, recognize your own strength, and feel more like yourself again.
DAYLIGHT COUNSELINGA Safe, Supportive Space for You to Heal & Grow
You’re here because motherhood, loss, trauma, or a major life transition has left you feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or carrying more than you can put into words. I’ve dedicated my career to supporting women through these deeply transformative moments, helping them heal from trauma, navigate pregnancy and postpartum changes, process birth-related experiences and pregnancy loss, and find steadiness through life’s emotional ups and downs.
I believe therapy should feel like a gentle exhale – a place where you can show up exactly as you are and know you will be met with compassion, curiosity, and respect. My approach is warm, grounding, and relational. I don’t rush the process, and I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, I walk alongside you, helping you uncover clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of self.
As a mother myself, I understand firsthand how complex, overwhelming, and beautiful the journey of being a woman can be. My personal experiences – including navigating the joys and challenges of pregnancy and loss – inform my empathy, patience, and ability to walk alongside you through life’s challenges, supporting you as you uncover your own strength and resilience.
I bring that same intentionality and care to how I hold space in the therapy room. I know how important it is to feel safe, understood, and not alone. And it’s an honor to offer that to others. Whether you’re grieving a loss, navigating pregnancy or postpartum changes, processing trauma, or simply trying to make sense of a difficult season, I’m here to help you move toward more light, ease, and connection.
Being a Mom Myself!
Although I began working with moms before becoming one myself, being a mom now gives me an even deeper understanding of the challenges that come with pregnancy, postpartum, and pregnancy loss. I’m not here to judge—none of us are perfect, and we’re all figuring out this mom thing as we go. My goal is to walk alongside you, supporting you as you navigate what’s best for you and your family.
More About Me:
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (2011) and my Master’s degree in Counselor Education (2016) from Penn State, where my interest in mental health and human behavior first took shape.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS), Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) in North Carolina.
I have been practicing as a licensed therapist for nearly ten years. I have worked in community mental health and intensive outpatient programs supporting pregnant and parenting women, and I also provide individualized therapy in private practice for women and mothers navigating pregnancy, postpartum, loss, trauma, and anxiety.
I serve as an adjunct professor, teaching and guiding graduate-level clinicians in field placements, helping them define and develop their clinical skills, with a focus on trauma-informed mental health and addiction care.
I am also a clinical supervisor, supporting emerging clinicians in building confidence, defining their niche, and developing their professional skills.
I’m passionate about supporting women and mothers in reconnecting with their strength—and helping emerging clinicians find their voice, confidence, and clinical niche.
“When you work with me, you’ll find a space where your emotions are welcome, your pace is honored, & your healing is supported with intention and care.”
